Write the next chapter of your ABB story.This is a position with grade18This position reports toQuality SpecialistYour role and responsibilitiesConducts Inspection, test protocols as assigned to ensure the parts, assemblies, products and systems meet specified requirements and customer expectations. Supports quality control needs and activities for supplier quality, production quality, testing, production, engineering, and other relevant functions. Assists specific quality related training, promoting passion for Quality, integrity in all the actions, and results orientation. Provides feedback to work teams from their internal and external customers to promote alignment between process output and customer expectations. Reports quality issues data, ensuring the Quality Management System is adhered to at all stages. Assist the local quality team in implementing and maintaining a Quality system, including audits, controls, training in tools and methods, reporting of quality KPIs and customer cases, and process documentation. Evaluates quantitative metrics that provide descriptive data for the determination of compliance to requirements. Supports implementation and raises opportunities for improvement. Collaborates in improving existing inspection and test protocols and capability, resulting in greater efficiency, accuracy, and/or reliability of test, inspection outcomes. Utilizes safety systems to perform work, resulting in an accident-free workplace. Notifies others when unsafe situations are observed and works with local HSE teams to improve the safety systems. Performs assigned tasks in a safe manner that will encourage others to exercise safety in their normal daily activities. Perform the inspection according to engineering order and the product standards. Identify any non-conformance of the product assembled, adding details to be solved to defect sheets defined. Evaluates quantitative metrics (quality, production, HSE, etc.). Performs the quality control plan and containment actions Maintain and verify qualily/production records of the orders. Parts or Assemblies Inspection when requiered for material/NCR. SAP transactions in the defined system (when required). Scrap flow process (when required). Communication of quality inspection topics, as customer issues, alerts, reminders (calibration, checklist, etc.). Qualifications for the role
  • High School diploma / GED
  • 3 years of experiences on manufacturing process (assembly, wiring, inspection, testing, etc.
  • Experience/knowledge with Engineering documents/paperwork.
  • Basic kwnowledge to verify materials specs per engineering drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD viewers, as windchill/Creo view, Autocad view (as needed).
  • Basic knowledge of the QN (quality notification) process.
  • General electrical and mechanical knowledge for the products.
  • Use of manual and eletrical tools of the manufacturing processes.
  • Reading and interpretation of drawings, schematics or diagrams of the orders.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office for the position.
  • Use of measurement equipment/tools.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical safety for the position.
  • Basic Windchill knowledge for the quality processes.
  • Basic SAP knowledge for the quality process.
  • Knowlegde for capturing data and records in the quality systems.
  • HSE knowledge proper for the quality position.
  • Quality processes and procedures defined (as checklist, instructions, manuals, etc. ISO).
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
