Job DescriptionAt Syngenta, we believe every employee has a role to play in safely feeding the world and taking care of our planet. To support that challenge, the Production and Supply team is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician located in Nampa, Idaho.Responsibilities
  • Provide support for HSE compliance and continuous improvement for all QC testing activities.
  • Perform assigned tasks in the seed health laboratory to meet demand levels and ensure optimum capacity is met.
  • Participate in seed testing processes that are conducted in accordance with the Syngenta protocols and the National Seed Health System Rules.
  • Support QC laboratory and testing activities as required by testing volumes.
  • Support complaint and claims investigations as determined by method demands for samples.
  • Communicate sample test results and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide testing support and analysis in making quality decisions related to inventory disposition that is compliance with Syngenta s risk management policies, standards, and KPIs.
  • Support the development and validation of new seed health testing methodology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support HSE compliance and continuous improvement for all QC testing activities
  • Must obtain and maintain Idaho Pesticide and Chemigation applicator license within 6 months of hire
Qualifications
  • Effectively interact with members of the seed health team to complete lab-based testing
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of quality control testing and how the results of the lab impact product quality.
  • Ensure that all testing results are completed according to the Syngenta protocol and results are reported accurately in a timely manner
  • Thorough knowledge of Syngenta global protocols
  • Facilitate communication between planning, QC, and 3rd party test providers
Critical knowledge
  • Hands on experience with laboratory processes for seed health testing
  • Knowledge of Quality Control Laboratory Processes
  • Experience in an international work environment; Ability to deal with various and diverse cultures and work habits.
  • Fluent in English
Critical Experience
  • BS or higher in biological science or related area preferred, but not required
  • Experience in a laboratory or quality testing related function, (preferably in a seed company).
  • Previous greenhouse and/or growth chamber experience preferred, but not required
  • Must have good computer skills, particularly in Excel, SAP, and/or other databases
