Job Summary:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our team at a control panel manufacturing site. The Quality Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the production process, with responsibility for both in-line and end-of-line quality control, managing RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations), and ensuring the completion of end-item data packets. This position is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our products and ensuring customer satisfaction by meeting or exceeding quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In-Line Quality Control:
  • Monitor and assess the quality of products during the manufacturing process, identifying defects or issues early on.
  • Perform regular inspections at various stages of production to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
  • Conduct tests and measurements using precision instruments to ensure adherence to design and engineering standards.
  • End-of-Line Quality Control:
  • Conduct final inspections and testing on completed control panels to verify that products meet all necessary specifications.
  • Ensure all product functionality, aesthetic requirements, and safety standards are met before shipping.
  • Confirm that proper documentation is in place before product release, including completed end-item data packets.

  • RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations):
  • Manage and process RMAs for defective or returned products, including root cause analysis and coordination of corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement improvements based on returned products and customer feedback.
  • Track and maintain records of RMA status, ensuring prompt resolutions and customer satisfaction.
  • End-Item Data Packets:
  • Compile and verify all necessary documentation, including test results, inspection logs, and certification data, for each completed control panel.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of end-item data packets for product traceability and customer delivery requirements.
  • Support traceability requirements for quality audits and product recalls when necessary.
  • Collaboration & Reporting:
  • Work closely with the production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure adherence to established quality standards and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and policies.
  • Provide detailed reports on quality metrics, inspection results, and corrective actions taken.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify areas for process improvement and work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to problem-solving efforts for recurring quality issues.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or technical certification in Quality Control, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in a quality control or quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in control panel assembly or related industries.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection techniques, including visual inspection, measurement tools (calipers, micrometers), and testing equipment.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of quality control processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and product specifications.
  • Experience with RMAs and warranty processes, including root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and AutoCad
  • Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., UL, IEC, ISO).

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard manufacturing environment with some exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
  • Ability to work in shifts or flexible hours based on production needs.
