Summary Estes Energetics is searching for a Quality Coordinator to join our manufacturing operations in the Haughton, LA area. The Quality Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards from production through to final shipment. This role involves coordinating quality assurance across manufacturing and shipping processes, ensuring compliance and collaborating with various departments to main and improve quality systems and procedures. Essential Functions
  • Conduct tests and analyses using established procedures and protocols.
  • Make improvements to an existing analytical laboratory to support the current black powder manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable industry standards, including ISO 9001, AS9100, and defense-specific regulations (e.g., ITAR, DFARS).
  • Record and document experimental procedures, data, and observations in a clear and organized manner and analyze data using appropriate methods.
  • Inventory monitoring and management.
  • Ensure shipments are properly classified, labeled, and documented.
  • Calibrate, maintenance, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Interface with Management regarding in-process testing, final lot testing, and the control and disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and well-organized laboratory environment.
Competencies, Experience, and Education
  • Previous experience in a laboratory, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) and defense contracting regulations (e.g., ITAR, DFARS).
  • Understanding of laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing demands.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and protocols in a laboratory setting.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses including:
  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • Pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Pass State and Federal background checks.
Salary60,000 - 75,000 DOEPhysical Demands
  • Sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Occasional movement through a manufacturing environment.
  • Use of personal protective equipment appropriate to the work location.
