Quality Engineer I Job, Hayward WIArclin USA is currently seeking talent for a Quality Engineer I job in our Hayward, WI locationReporting to the Plant Manager, this role will develop, evaluate, and improve the manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, chemicals, and production equipment capabilities, works closely with automation, engineering and safety functions to ensure all aspects of change management are executed, and maintain all quality control standards. Quality Engineer I Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain the systems necessary to ensure quality of raw materials and finished products; provide primary support for all chemistry/quality related manufacturing issues; act as liaison between R&T (Research and Technology), Technical Service, Marketing & Sales, and Production; provide guidance for department (Lab) activity and ensure it is within budget
- Monitor and improve the efficiency and output of the plant, ensure the manufacturing process works at optimal levels, maximize the rate and quality of all surface treaters in order to meet supply requirements.
- Provide technical advice on plant operations and improvements
- Collaborates on the preparation of engineering analysis of projects that includes preliminary design, detailed design, project cost analysis, life cycle cost analysis and equipment selection
- Sustains a constructive flow of two-way communication with internal and external customers to complete work assignments. Assertively seeks resolution (with Manager), to customer problems/concerns where solutions are not immediately evident.
- Applies creative thinking to new situations/opportunities while balancing creativity with practicality to achieve efficiencies.
- Manage the site QC Lab. Conduct routine and non-routine QC testing. Maintain all lab supplies for the main QC lab and the production QC labs. Responsible for the site Quality Analysts.
- Leads Corrective and Preventative Action documentation and response, including leading the site in the discipline of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Planning
- Participates in process mapping and FMEA sessions and Gage R&Rs with operations team
- Serves as the subject matter expert in site quality-based software including but not limited to Salesforce and ISRA
- Ensures all customer product quality incidents have root causes identified and controlled.
- With the site Quality Engineer, communication point for customer and supplier quality concerns. Also, working with Quality Engineer, schedules and participates in monthly and special as needed quality reviews with the operation crews.
- Establishes product inspection standards by studying process control
- Manage all Raw Material Quality Inspections
Quality Engineer I Job Requirements:
- S. in Quality Engineering or relevant experience
- 5-7 years operational experience in a manufacturing facility
- Experience in operating quality management systems and processes
- Experience with Statistical Process Control
- Experience in working with Six Sigma
- Ability to work well with all levels of personnel throughout the facility
- Ability to lead and manager quality staffing
- On-call for Quality related production and supplier issues
- Ability to operate safely in a manufacturing environment; this may include, but is not limited to potentially lifting up to 40 lbs, standing for extended periods of time bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing stairs, or any combination of the aforementioned, etc.
