We are looking for someone with an Aerospace and Defense background to join our talented team! The Quality Engineer will work collaboratively with Quality Assurance and Engineering personnel to support quality engineering requirements for customers, suppliers, and internal QMS systems. The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing statistical information for quality improvement by identifying testing methods and samples, and ensuring customer requirements are satisfied. - Comprehensive Metrology knowledge.
- Knowledge of various vision systems (Smart-Scope, Oasis, Keyence) and Zeiss Calypso & PC DMiS CMM programming.
- Determine quality improvement parameters by identifying methods relevant to manufacturing processes, including APQP, PPAP, and cert package review and approval.
1. Monitors key product process CP's and CPK's PPK's (SPC) 2. Monitors Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gauge R&R) measurement systems.
- Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error, determining levels of confidence.
- Analyzes data by completing normal distribution and process capability analysis tests.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
- Works closely with external partners, e.g. suppliers, customers, and vendors; Manages and monitors vendors' qualifications and performance to ensure they meet the company's compliance requirements including auditing and corrective actions.
- Maintains accurate quality records.
- Supports new product introduction (NPI) processes.
- Assists in the creation of quality documentation and development of SOPs for their facility and products in line with AS9100 and ISO13485 standards.
- Works closely with the manufacturing team to ensure quality protocols are followed documentation is correctly maintained and implement any new changes or adaptations based on quality review.
- Identifies and records any problem relating to the product, process, and QMS.
- Participates in documenting root cause, corrective, and preventive action.
- Provide inspection support that includes: first article, in-process, and end item quality.
- Compile statistical data and write narrative reports summarizing quality assurance findings.
- Performs inspection tasks to determine if the product meets customer requirements.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Associate degree, technical/trade school training or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years related experience. (Additional experience may be substituted for formal education.)
- Knowledge of computer operations and applications is required.
- Must be able to read and comprehend engineering drawings, sketches, and verbal and written communications to accomplish the job at hand.
- Required to utilize independent judgment related to inspection function and activities.
- Must be able to work independently or with a team providing solutions to a range of complex problems.
- Possesses good interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills to interface with various levels of employees while performing quality assurance functions.
