Job Description :

This Quality Engineer is responsible for working directly with Large Aerospace Clients to confirm specifications, perform audits, and support the manufacturing team as they create parts. Our client works with some of the largest Aerospace companies around the globe, thus you will have great exposure to key decision makers and be the face of the company in terms of Quality.

Description

This Quality System Engineer plays a vital part in different quality areas such as:

  • Quality Assurance:
    • Drive defect reduction efforts for supplier, in-house, and process-related issues.
    • Monitor product performance metrics and implement corrective actions.
    • Participate in internal and external audits.
    • Support calibration, receiving inspection, and safety initiatives.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Provide technical engineering support for adhesive manufacturing.
    • Maintain and improve the AS9100 Quality Management System.
    • Serve as a quality liaison to various departments (Customer Support, Operations, Technical Services, Sales).
  • Customer and Supplier Interaction:
    • Host external auditors and support customer visits and meetings.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues.

Profile

A successful Quality System Engineer will ahve

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering or Chemistry preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 4 years of manufacturing experience (aerospace chemicals, coatings, plastics, adhesives, or composites preferred).
    • 4-6 years of experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems.
    • Proficiency in Six-Sigma tools (Green Belt preferred), SPC, and chemical/mechanical testing.
    • ASQ certification preferred.
    • Experience in a unionized environment preferred.
  • Skills:
    • College-level algebra and statistics.
