All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, genetic information, disability or protected veteran status.No sponsorship is available for this position.The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to lead, support and continuously improve the quality planning activities including: Customer and supplier activities, assisting in Corrective Action activities, quality reporting, acting as a communication link between KEI and the customer, and pursuing continuous improvement.High Level Roles & ResponsibilitiesQuality Systems executionNPIMRBCorrective ActionsFirst Article Inspections (FAI)Quality Management Systems (QMS)Lead the development and ensure the integrity of the APQP documentation setCollaborate with other internal and external (both customer and supply base) functions to pursue Quality issue resolution.Key Performance ObjectivesShort Term (0 to 3 months)Learn KEJ Quality Management System requirementsLearn Customer Requirements and Quality flow downsTake co-ownership of the customer meetings, data for the meetings, action itemsLearn Quality and Operations documentation and processesLearn and provide input to the MRB and NPI processLearn and adopt Kimball Electronics philosophies and cultureMidterm (3 to 12 months)Co-own Corrective Action to closure internally and externallyReduce overall PPM and improve internal yields by implementing data-driven decisions and actions/poke yokes to improve customer metrics and reduce COPQManage customer RMA's and communications of complaintsParticipate in the development and maintenance of PFMEA and Control Plans and First Article InspectionsDevelop and submit PPAP/product approval documents for new/changed products to meet customer requirementsParticipate in supplier audits/supplier development, as neededReview customer documentation and determine process/flow and equipment/tooling requirementsWork with the Quality Department to improve efficiency/effectiveness of inspection methods/processes through improved methods, improved manufacturing processes, and/or identification of resource needs (personnel, technology, etc.)Train others on quality-related requirements, procedures, methods, etc.About UsKimball Electronics is a leading contract manufacturer of durable goods electronics serving a variety of industries on a global scale.
