Title: Quality Engineer

Reports to: Quality Manager

GENERAL SCOPE OF POSITION:

Sefar Quality ensures that products and processes meet established quality standards and customer requirements. This role involves monitoring, evaluating, and improving quality processes across the organization. The Quality Engineer will work with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, perform root cause analyses, implement corrective actions, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

This position will have to have knowledge in all the listed responsibilities however each Quality Engineer will have areas of expertise that they will have more responsibilities in. The area of expertise for this position will be Calibration, Supplier Quality and Regulatory Requirements.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 1-3 years quality engineer experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience in problem solving and managing intricate tasks that involve multiple departments
  • Experience in project management preferred
  • ASQ Certifications (CQE/CQA/CQT) a plus
  • ISO knowledge and Regulatory requirements preferred
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Computer literate: Word & Excel experience required
  • Ability to work with all levels across the organization

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

In order to ensure the general scope of the position is met, the Quality Engineer is expected to:

1 Documentation & Compliance:

Maintain accurate quality documentation, including inspection records, corrective action reports, and compliance documentation. Ensure alignment with industry standards (such as ISO or other relevant certifications).

2. Risk Management

Participate in risk assessments for environments, quality and safety and escalate issues when required

3 Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for environmental, safety, quality improvements and lead initiatives to enhance product and process quality using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or FMEA.

4. Issue Resolution:

Investigate nonconformance's, complaints, environmental and quality issues, perform root cause analyses, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions with relevant departments.

5. Auditing: Conduct internal and external audits to evaluate adherence to quality standards, identify gaps, and implement improvements as needed.6. Manages quality specific projects as assigned by Quality, to meet defined project objectives and timelines.

6. Inspection: Performs incoming and final inspection per the instructions and internal work instructions. Controls the segregation of all non-conforming materials to prevent any use of defective materials

7. Projects:

Manages quality specific projects as assigned by Quality, to meet defined project objectives and timelines.

8. All activities are performed safely and timely, ensuring we meet or exceed department targets for Environment, Safety, Quality Performance, Delivery Performance, and Productivity and Operational Expenses.
