Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer (Electronics) will support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with standards and customer requirements. This role includes integrating quality initiatives, driving continuous improvement, and leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process for new product and customer launches.
- Lead the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), including developing and approving FMEAs, Control Plans, Process Flows, Work Instructions, PSW, and IMDS documentation.
- Generate and maintain quality plans, procedures, work instructions, and performance indicators.
- Collaborate with engineering and program managers on product quality and engineering changes.
- Investigate reported build issues and non-compliance, implementing corrective actions with engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Evaluate and resolve internal quality issues, preparing Quality Alerts and ensuring timely communication.
- Manage defect-reduction initiatives and recommend improvements to manufacturing methods to ensure quality.
- Perform internal audits for ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001 compliance, as well as process and product audits.
- Support supplier and customer corrective action requests (8Ds), including coordination, tracking, and implementation of solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality and production processes.
- Maintain a safe work environment by participating in safety meetings, inspections, and reporting unsafe conditions or acts.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, with a strong focus on electronics.
- Bachelor's degree in quality, Industrial, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
- Proficient in quality assurance tools and methodologies, including APQP, FMEA, PPAP, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and 8D.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
