Job Overview

Belcan is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our aerospace team in Rockford, IL. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in aerospace manufacturing and quality engineering. The position focuses on maintaining and enhancing quality standards in manufacturing processes and products while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Track, document, and manage non-conforming hardware using appropriate quality tools.

• Review and approve Vendor Operation Sheets to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.

• Develop and maintain professional relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to address quality concerns and improve processes.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).

• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including assessing non-conformances, making disposition decisions, and coordinating corrective actions.

• Engage in Manufacturing Process Reviews, Controlled Builds, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.

Core Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in aerospace quality engineering.

• Experience with MRB processes, Manufacturing Process Reviews, and non-conformance management.

• Familiarity with PFMEA, PPAP, and other quality tools and systems.

• Strong root cause analysis and corrective action implementation (RCCA) capabilities.

• In-depth knowledge of ISO and AS9100 quality standards, as well as manufacturing processes, blueprints, and specifications.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.

Desired Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting.

• Experience with systems such as SAP, Team Center, Solumina, and/or DIOS.

• AS9100 REV-D Internal Audit certification is an asset.

• Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) principles and practices.

Salary guidelines for similar roles at Belcan are $70,000-$85,000 yearly.
