General Job Description Quality Inspector Department: Quality Control Reports To: Quality Manager Classification: Non-Exempt Shift: 2nd Shift Duties & Responsibilities Read instructions and prints to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplies performance Select output sample and check them using the appropriate methods measuring dimensions, testing functionally, and comparing to specifications Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final to specifications Maintain records of inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records Inspect procedure of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with Quality & safety standards Monitor the use of gages and testing equipment to ensure it is safe and well maintained. Contact Supervisor if found to not meet requirements. Prepare, scan & electronically file QC reports. Recommend improvements to the production / Quality When requested, teach the production team about quality control concepts to improve product quality. Resolve quality related issues in a timely manner. Initiate and process Non-Conforming Material Reports. Identify (tag) discrepant / suspect material until dispositioned. Required Skills & Abilities Proven experience as a quality inspector or relevant role Familiarity with quality testing machines and systems Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies Working knowledge of Word, Excel. Ability to locate, open, modify & save electronic files. Education & Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent Two Years' Experience in comparable field Physical Requirements Ability to lift 30 - 50 lbs. Prolonged periods of standing and walking on uneven concrete surfaces.
