Quality Inspector(Direct Placement for Client)Sigma Design has collaborated with a custom manufacturer seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their facility in Estacada, OR. This company opened in 1979, and since that time has been doing quality manufacturing, machining, and assembly work for their customers. They are currently in a state of growth and have opened 4 branches in 4 years, offering advancement opportunities for their employees.What is offered100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance provided for employees and their families. Coverage begins on the first of the month following hire date.PTO Policy: Employees receive 40 hours of PTO after 90 days. After one year, an additional 40 hours are granted (totaling 80 hours). In the second year, another 40 hours are added (120 hours total). Each subsequent year, 8 additional hours are accrued annually until reaching a maximum of 160 hours of PTO.Bonus Program: Monthly bonuses are based on delivered parts and forecast objectives, with amounts ranging from $300, $500, $700 and $1,000, depending on workload and deliverables met.$26-$30/hour DOEMonday – Friday, flexible hoursPrimary Function:The Inspector performs and records inspections on raw material, in-process, finished products and First Article Inspections. Works with Sales and Production to develop inspection plans to ensure requirements are met. Works with Purchasing to resolve supplier quality issues. The Inspector is responsible for managing the company's inspection tool equipment and control of nonconforming product process and completing required First Articles Inspections and Statements of Conformance.Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:Works with Sales and Production to develop inspection plans for new products.Performs dimensional inspection using standard inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, CMM and other equipment per SP 04 Inspection.Performs visual inspections using customer specification as guidelines for acceptance and rejection.Performs and documents First Article Inspection.Reviews documentation for completeness and accuracy to internal and external expectations.Documents inspections completed.Documents nonconforming material clearly and accurately. Administers the nonconforming material process per SP 06 Control of Nonconforming Product.Manages the calibration function per SP 05 Control of Measuring and Test Equipment.Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)High School diploma or equivalent preferredBlueprint reading skills including GD+T print reading abilities.CMM and Mastercam knowledge a plus.Ability to problem solve.Ability to work with co-workers and supervisors.Competent writing and organizational skills.Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors and customers.Is a US Person under ITAR requirements.Pass a post-offer background verification.Work EnvironmentStandard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions.
