Position Summary The role of the Quality Control Inspector is to ensure that all Quality requirements are met to ensure we are producing high quality parts. To achieve this, the QC inspector will perform quality checks with measuring devices and generate QA documentation. This is a hybrid role that will also be an assisting member in the shipping department. Attention to detail, being a clear communicator, and having a positive influence on the team is crucial for success. Essential Functions Quality Control functions:
  • Perform quality control checks on projects per set procedures and requirements
  • Route parts to appropriate secondary processes
  • Create inspection reports and certificates of conformance
  • Ensure timely delivery of parts to the Shipping department from QC
  • Communicate project status with department leads
  • Identify and communicate quality challenges or successes and workload status with Project Manager
  • Train and mentor new and current employees on department operations and procedures; ensure proper and complete knowledge of training
Shipping functions:
  • Process customer shipments in ERP System for multiple business units to generate packing slips
  • Verify actual contents to required contents of shipment
  • Package parts for shipment, build crates as necessary
  • Prepare documents for shipment
  • Schedule and process daily shipping via common carrier per customer requirements to generate shipping labels; complete necessary paperwork such as bill of lading
  • Perform final visual inspection of products during packing and communicate any quality concerns to production

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
Technical Competencies
  • Basic knowledge of SLA, SLS, MJF, FDM, and DLP processes and material properties
  • Proficient knowledge of quality inspection and reporting
  • Proficient knowledge of print reading
  • Proficient knowledge of commonly used hand tools, and power tools
  • Basic knowledge of the ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards
  • Proficient knowledge of ERP System (Materialise Magics or Solidworks)
  • Proficient computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
  • Proficient knowledge logistics management

Education & Professional Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years' experience in quality or related field required or 1+ years with MWP preferred
  • 1+ years relevant Additive Manufacturing experience preferred
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, equipment, hand/power tools, etc., and handle and feel parts of various size
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and crouch occasionally throughout shift
  • Ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs moderately throughout workday, occasionally 50+ lbs with a team lift
  • Ability to focus vision with or without visual aids for: close vision, color vision, depth perception and adjusting to sharp focus
  • Noise conditions can be moderate to extreme, ear protection required and provided
  • Work environment exposures include fumes or airborne particles (PPE available upon request) and moving mechanical parts and vibration.
Work Hours/Travel
  • 1st shift work schedule, Monday - Friday, overtime as necessary
  • Remote work not available
  • No travel required
