Quality InspectorLocation Willowbrook Road Victor, NYNumber of Openings 1Full-Time/Part-Time Full-TimeOpen Date 10/8/2024Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-ExemptShift DaysDescriptionPay Range: $20.00 - 25.00/hrPrimary Function and Scope:This position monitors and determines that fabricated and purchased parts meet approved drawing and specifications by following GPS' documented policies and procedures under the guidance of the quality team.Essential Functions:Reviews, adheres, and suggests improvements to the quality assurance standards and existing policies.Manage and log receipt of incoming inspections.Perform all stages of inspections with minimal supervision.Perform validation of incoming products utilizing provided basic metrology equipment.Monitor non-conformance logs and reports delay of product delivery to supervisor.Operate height gauge, comparator, hardness tester and other tools effectively and accurately.Maintains company and employee calibration data systems.Operation of CMM. (Preferred)Observes and follow company mandated safety procedures and policies.Other Duties:Maintain a clean and orderly work area both in the employee's personal space and common areas.Any other task assigned by management within scope of position, federal and state regulations.Position RequirementsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED equivalent.Associate degree or vocational/technical school certification in Quality management or machining (Preferred).3 to 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESStrong ability to read and understand engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications.Adept competence in the use of tools required to perform manufacturing inspections.Ability to interpret and follow written policies and procedures.Proficient knowledge of computer operations and applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Proficient mathematical skills including basic algebra and ability to interpret fractions and decimals.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.Effective written and verbal communicationEOE Statement Our company is committed to a policy of Equal Employment Opportunity with respect to all employees and applicants for employment.
