We strive to produce a high-quality engineered product to live up to the BILSTEIN legacy. Position: Quality InspectorOverviewWe are presently looking for top talent to join our diverse organization. This position will exhibit process improvements that impact the bottom line in a performance driven organization. It is essential that you are transparent and lead in a collaborative way. Duties & ResponsibilitiesIn collaboration with the Quality Team the Quality Inspector is the responsible for providing detailed feedback in regards of surface quality related defects to not just the Quality team but the overall BCRS team. The Quality technician will also identify the rings accordingly based on the disposition and will take important quality related decisions right on the line taking a very active role over the quality we deliver to our customers.Specific duties include:
- 75-80% of the time at the line watching/inspecting.
- Present 100% for critical products (Schaeffler/specific Trials/MK Morse edge condition for example)
- Use of the Notification system and other Quality related SAP transactions.
- Perform sample inspections.
- Document the holds in a structured and detailed manner (pictures, SAP, emails, etc).
- Entering Checks on SAP
- Inspectors to put the hold stickers on the rings based on the disposition and defects observed.
- Perform the Dots labeling system at the turnstile in order to have the material identified before hits the pack line.
- Quality inspector will be required to actively engage at the Slitter during setup times, entry or exit. The first operator will instruct and provide direction. (requirement therefore ... needs to learn the entry and exit.
- Attend to Production or Quality related meetings when first hand input can be required.
- Interact frequently with Inside Sales, Material technology and Planning in order to achieve daily objectives.
- Reading production schedules and production cards in order to understand the material to inspect.
The fulfillment of duties involves regular communication with co-workers in other departments in order to make decisions concerning customer demand and quality requirements Qualifications/Training:
- Education: Completion of High School or Secondary Education, AS or Technical degree with equivalent experience is preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in steel/metal manufacturing.
- Knowledge of production and processing of cold rolled steel would be an advantage.
- PC Knowledge (internet/Windows/ERP applications).
- Prior experience using diverse measuring devices is preferred.
- Clear Interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- Be a self-motivated team player who requires minimal supervision.
- Willing to learn new skills.
- Be a change agent.
