Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans. With a large printable surface area and a wide range of sizes, shapes and decorating options, our aluminum cans are the perfect packaging format to create compelling brand presence where it counts. Here is your chance to join the Crown Beverage Division.Location:Crown is building a brand new manufacturing facility in Martinsville, VA. This state-of-the-art facility will manufacture specialty beverage cans for some of the top consumer product companies. We are in the process of assembling a world class team of individuals to operate this facility and are looking for Quality Assurance Inspectors.Duties And Responsibilities:This position will perform a variety of duties including ensuring that the quality of our products is of the highest standard and meets and/or exceeds all specifications for our customers.Qualifications:Requirements for this position would include but not be limited to the following:Inspects and tests products for quality defects in the manufacturing process and reports issues and concerns to various departments.Ensures all equipment, guards, and safety devices are in place at all times, and follows safe work procedures and safety rules.Performs continual quality control checks to ensure product is running within specifications.Audits various applications to product to ensure SOP specifications are met.Analyze spoilage, record causes, and take corrective actions where applicable.Monitors processes and reports all problems to supervision through interaction and required paperwork.Advise management and coach fellow co-workers on matters regarding quality issues.Follows all SOP requirements and intercedes or challenges proper personnel when defects are present in production runs.Notify supervisor of any incidences of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken and of any poor quality material or supplies noted.Interacts and reports to/with the Quality Manager in creation and revisions of SOP's (standard operating procedures) as changes and additions require.Keeps area safe, clean, and organized.Performs other related duties as required.This position will also help to provide training for equipment operation and reinforce all safety procedures.Minimum RequirementsExperience with maintaining accurate records as well as experience with accurate measurement capability.A strong knowledge of computer skills with a focus on the Microsoft Office package.Knowledge and work history of focusing on quality and safety in every aspect of the job.Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.The ability to travel domestically for training within the first one or two months with the Company.Must be able to work twelve (12) hour shifts, both day and evening.Preferred Requirements3+ years of production experience, specifically in the areas of quality assurance or production control experience.An Associate's Degree or equivalent is a benefit as well as any quality related training or certification.Working experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment is preferred.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlThe associate may lift and/or move up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focusWorking ConditionsGenerally works in a plant environment but will be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office settingWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular trafficThe associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperaturesThe noise level is frequently loudCrown offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package including medical/dental/vision/prescription/ life insurance and income protection benefits as well as a company funded pension plan, 401(K), stock purchase, tuition reimbursement and gainsharing programs.
