ABOUT THE ROLEThe Quality Manager is responsible for setting the strategic direction, continual improvement and daily execution of the Quality Department ensuring that all products meet our rigorous standards of quality and regulatory compliance. Being a member of the senior leadership team, this role leads proactively and collaborates cross-functionally ensuring processes, systems and people are optimized for building quality products meeting and exceeding our customer expectations.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING - Collaboratively lead a culture of continuous improvement, building a quality culture, moving towards process quality from product quality and increasing data visualization to grow analysis capabilities with our team.
- Active leadership, participation and advancement with gemba and operating system routines.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and regulatory/legal requirements.
- Conduct regular quality and process audits to ensure adherence to procedures and standards.
- Oversee qualification of incoming materials, ensuring they meet specification and variation is identified / communicated.
- Lead the QA Teammates to engage with operations and processes to grow their technical comprehension and their capability for using the data to drive Continuous Improvement.
- Identify areas for improvement and lead initiatives to enhance product or process quality.
- Create, adjust and utilize KPI's that reflect the execution of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions) and increasingly improved customer satisfaction. Using these KPI's to drive improvement.
- Lead the problem solving and permanent corrective actions to eliminate quality issues through the 8D process or other root cause analysis methods.
- Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
- Knowledgeable of the key industry standards, regulations/laws, with respect to the product delivered quality.
- Engage with Engineering, R&D, Marketing, Sales and other departments as necessary to gain a full understanding of VOC to better build improved quality standards, gates and systems.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR - 4-year degree in Engineering, Quality management or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the roofing or construction materials industry
- Six Sigma certification preferred
- Must be a leader in continuous improvement and be able to lead and mentor a root cause problem solving culture.
- Strong knowledge of QMS and industry standards such as ISO 9001.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, experiences in using data analytics for CI, SPC and problem resolution.
- Strong Leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Confident to communicate throughout the organization from line level Teammates to Senior Leaders and Executives along with customers, suppliers and Sales.
