Job DescriptionQuality ManagerWhy choose this role at Linamar in Wilson, NCLinamar Forging Carolina (LFC) is part of the Linamar Group that has over 70 facilities around the world. Our activity is to develop process and to supply forged, heat treated and machined parts for the Automotive Industry. Succeeding in this position will mean identifying and developing new growth opportunities in the plant or within the Linamar Corporation.This position reports to the General Manager and is a member of the facility's Plant Operational Committee (POC). The Quality Manager ensures that our processes are robust enough to meet Customers' requirements. By audits and measures, he/she guarantees the performance of these processes. He/She is the Customer contact to approve new processes or to solve any formal reject issues. He/She supervises and coaches quality team members to ensure that departmental targets are met and aligned with plant targets. He/She maintains third party registration to IATF 16949. Role and Responsibilities:Support, promote and demonstrate Linamar's Core Values and Leadership BehaviorsEnsure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility's geographic location and all internal and Customer requirements (Linamar GOS Plays, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949)Maintain balance between customer, employee, and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Performance Indicators to align to Linamar's Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.Interact and maintain effective communication(s) with managers, supervisors, support staff, and production personnel, as a POC member.Establish quality goals and objectives that support the facility's operations. Champion the Quality Management System as the IATF/ISO Management Representative. Ensure that the Quality requirements of our customers are met. Provide a supplier management system with high standards of quality.Create, recommend, implement, verify, and continually improve procedures and systems for the efficient and effective control of quality. Create plans to reduce the cost of poor quality and ensure that immediate action is taken to rectify the cause of poor quality •Coordinate the development and preparation of quality documentation to support APQP, corrective actions, continuous improvement, and plant metrics. ensure that immediate action is taken to rectify the cause of poor quality.Plan, organize, schedule, and maintain the activities of the quality department to ensure that the department supports the needs of manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.Establish a manpower plan to run the department effectively and efficiently. Develop and empower employees through training programs, feedback, and performance reviews.Establish long term plans for the department, equipment, and personnel development.Other duties as assigned.Education: Master's degree in Manufacturing/Engineering or related disciplineRequired Skills & Experience: Ideally between 6-10 years of experience in quality management activities in the automotive business. Advanced knowledge of machine capability requirements and SPC tools. Trained in the ISO/IATF16949 quality management systems and internal auditing. Knowledge of the Core Tools (APQP, MSA, PPAP, SPC, FMEA). Familiar with the customer websites. Exemplary leadership, coaching, and communication skills: ability to delegate tasks, provide guidance, & train others. Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong decision-making skills with an ownership attitude. Strong plan to reduce the cost by maintaining/improving quality performance. Demonstrate professionalism during internal and external meetings. Focus on the system processes and on people development.#LI-MG1
