Job DescriptionPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide hands-on leadership at the site-level to implement quality systems and drive continuous improvement. This position is a 'working' manager position.
- Drive improvements in first-time quality via reduction in internal and supplier non-conformances (through trend analysis as part of monthly QMS reports), and customer escapes. Drive down the cost of poor quality (scrap, rework, warranty). Root-cause analysis and corrective actions on trends observed through data analysis.
- Maintain facility quality certifications (including ISO 9001, ASME etc.) and conduct internal audits.
- Conduct activities in line with Corporate and facility quality manual (and in line with ISO 9001), including monthly QMS reports, management reviews etc.
- Ensure that company policies and procedures are being enforced and adhered to at all times.
- Evaluate and recommend Quality improvements by coordinating the Corrective Action Program.
- Provide continual evaluation of the group's processes and methods, to ensure the most effective use of resources and equipment.
- Provide day-to-day supervision of employee job execution (quality inspectors and other personnel), to include training, performance evaluation and employee relations.
- Continually monitor and control inspection operations to ensure compliance with applicable quality control documents.
- Ensure test functions are performed in a manner consistent with applicable requirements and quality procedures. Maintain appropriate records.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with department managers and supervisors to provide for and ensure that employees receive Quality Management System indoctrination and training.
- Strive for continuous improvement in facility safety and quality.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain Quality Management System and maintain compliance with applicable industry standards.
- Maintain and enforce all quality related processes in all departments, i.e. commercial, engineering, manufacturing (including foundry), and supply chain.
- Accountability for accurate inventory of items in inspection, MRB rack, and standard time to scrap or put back in stock for internal and supplier NCR's.
- Includes assigning responsibility for who makes the ERP transaction in and out.
- Prepare Inspection Reports and maintain files of inspection documents.
- Coordinate and assist in preparing Data Books on completed assemblies.
- Maintain approved supplier program with ongoing performance assessment and audits of new and existing suppliers. Add in inspection criteria for new parts as they are created.
- Maintain inspection and measuring equipment; perform or arrange for calibration of equipment; and maintain equipment calibration records.
- Evaluate and recommend Quality improvements by coordinating the Nonconformance and Corrective Action System. Including driving the resolution of customer reported nonconformance.
- Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality activities.
- Implements traceability requirements for MTR's and other requirements per customer specific requirements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 years of experience in managing quality systems such as ISO 9001 or API Q1.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment preferable.
