Become part of our team and start your career at PALFINGER.Palfinger is seeking a Quality Manager experienced in metal fabrication, welding and assembly processes to join the team at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Council Bluffs, IA. As a part of the plant Operations Leadership Team, the Quality Manager is responsible for supporting the plant Quality functions by driving both tactical and strategic programs in collaboration with plant and regional leadership. Additionally, the Quality Manager leads and manages the quality assurance and quality control teams.The Quality Manager reports to the Plant Manager and has a functional dotted line of responsibility to the Regional Quality Manager.Your Responsibilities
- Collect, Chart, report, manage and analyze internal quality, and warranty results including root cause analysis and preventive measures on a regular basis
- Own and manage the plant Incoming Quality, Internal Quality, MRB (Material Review Board), final Product Quality and Warranty as it relates to plant quality
- Develop inspection plans and tools according to product requirements from FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), control plans, receiving, internal and final inspections data, along with warranty data
- Observe root cause analysis process through to completion - plant-plant/plant-supplier and plant to customer together with supplier quality management for supplier and internally manufactured parts
- Initiate and manage quality improvement processes
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Management, Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 - 10 years of quality management experience
- Experience using statistical process control (SPC) and process capability studies (CPK) to identify opportunities in all quality data
- Quality certifications such as CMQ/OE, CQE, CSSGB or CSSBB preferred
- Ability to travel up to 15%
