Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Manager to support our Coldwater manufacturing facility. This role will focus on ensuring product and process quality through leadership of the quality team, continuous improvement initiatives, compliance verification, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic oversight on engineering prints, procedures, customer-specific requirements, and regulatory standards to ensure accuracy and applicability, delegating detailed reviews as necessary.
  • Mentor and develop the Quality team, fostering professional growth and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead investigations into customer-reported defects, driving cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing leadership to establish and maintain Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP documentation, ensuring alignment with quality and business objectives.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of Work Instructions (WIs) to maintain standardization and compliance.
  • Drive data-driven decision-making by guiding the use of quality tools such as Cause and Effect, SPC, and Pareto Charts to monitor and improve process parameters.
  • Manage and prioritize corrective actions, overseeing the resolution of nonconforming materials and ensuring systemic improvements across manufacturing and support processes.
  • Establish strong partnerships with production, R&D, and engineering teams to proactively address manufacturing challenges and drive quality enhancements.
  • Provide leadership in the implementation of new equipment, process improvements, and design modifications, ensuring seamless integration with quality systems.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives, leading quality-focused projects and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
  • Develop and oversee audit programs, ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards while driving process improvements.
  • Analyze and report on quality performance metrics, providing leadership with insights and strategic recommendations for ongoing enhancements.
  • Drive resolution of nonconformances and technical issues by establishing structured problem-solving methodologies and verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Lead efforts in designing and developing new processes using continuous improvement methodologies to meet evolving customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional leadership responsibilities as assigned, ensuring quality objectives support overall business strategy.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • An Associate's degree with 15+ years of documented work experience may be considered.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of Quality Management experience in a manufacturing setting.

  • Prior experience successfully leading and motivating a team of Quality Associates and Lab Technicians.
  • Prior experience creating and maintaining Quality Management Systems.
  • Proven experience working directly with customers on quality-related issues and requests
  • Experience leading audits, customer visits, etc.

Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001

  • Automotive or industrial manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

  • Hands-on, self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and continuously improve processes.

  • Six Sigma Yellow, Green, or Black Belt certification (or equivalent training) preferred.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and 6S techniques is a plus.

  • SAP experience preferred but not required.
