Job Description

Summary (Position Description): The Quality Programmer is primarily responsible for creating and maintaining coordinate measuring machine programs in accordance with company drawings and requests.

Reports To: Quality Compliance Manager

Duties and Tasks:

· Use continuous improvement practices in Inspection areas to improve overall production efficiency and housekeeping of facility.

· Create and maintain CMM / Faro Arm inspection programs for use with purchased parts and in-house machined parts in accordance with company drawings and requests.

· Create and maintain new platform inspection programs as they are acquired and/or developed.

· Maintain Machining Inspection Room & Metrology Lab cleanliness in accordance with BIPROS and 5S standards.

· Maintain and develop CMM work holding for purchased and in-house material.

· Complete inspection documentation or reporting.

· Complete daily/weekly/monthly forms or reports as needed.

· Inspection of production, non-production and sample components with coordinate measuring machines and conventional inspection methods and metrology equipment.

· Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

· Advanced knowledge of Engineering drawing and GD&T required

· Data acquisition systems experience required

· Knowledge of general inspection methods and gages required

· Knowledge of Calypso a plus

· Siemens NX CAD experience a plus

· Gage and tool design experience a plus

· SAP experience a plus

· Ability to work effectively in a group or team environment

Requirements:

· Associate degree or equivalent experience with a thorough understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)

· Ability to gather and organize component defect data.

· Support continuous improvement efforts with suppliers

· Ability to effectively meet and communicate with employees, the public and vendors.

· Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion and sound judgment.

· Solid PC skills using Microsoft Office software, as well as a working knowledge of general office equipment (photocopier, fax machine, phones.)

· Good written communication skills and effective organizational skills.

· Ability to work collectively with others within the organization.

Work Environment:

· This job is performed in a professional office environment and a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; bend; stoop; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
