Quality/Safety Manager
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality/Safety Manager to lead our quality assurance and safety management efforts, ensuring the delivery of products and services that meet customer expectations, regulatory standards, and promote a safe working environment. The Quality/Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company's quality control and safety processes, managing a team of professionals, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across both areas.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, OSHA, Six Sigma, etc.).
* Lead the team in conducting regular audits of processes, products, and systems to identify areas of improvement, ensuring that quality and safety standards are met.
* Oversee the development and execution of quality control procedures, safety protocols, and testing protocols.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify quality and safety issues, implement solutions, and optimize processes.
* Analyze data and metrics related to quality, safety, and performance, and prepare reports to present findings and recommend corrective actions to senior management.
* Lead root cause analysis for non-conformities, product defects, safety incidents, and near-misses, and manage the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct safety inspections, and lead incident investigations to mitigate risks and improve safety protocols.
* Train and mentor staff on quality control techniques, safety standards, tools, and best practices.
* Ensure that all quality and safety documentation, reports, and records are properly maintained and readily available for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
* Keep up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging quality and safety methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Occupational Safety, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a quality management, safety, or quality assurance role.
* Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma) and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
* Experience leading audits, inspections, and quality control and safety processes.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives in both quality and safety.
* Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
* Proficiency in using quality management software, safety management systems, and data analysis tools.
* Certification in Six Sigma, Occupational Safety (e.g., OSHA), or other quality and safety management certifications is a plus.
Desired Skills:
* Experience in managing or implementing quality and safety improvement projects.
* Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel).
