Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for auditing new and existing online course and programs to ensure they meet strict university quality standards, guidelines, and expectations.

The position reviews and assesses the configuration of new and existing courses within the university Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure a quality student experience and provides reports to subject matter experts (SME's), Course Developers, and Instructional Designers.

The incumbent collaborates with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis and has the primary responsibility to ensure the course shell and course materials are accurate and complete prior to creation of a course master.

Essential Functions:

Performs routine quality reviews of online courses prior to and after course offering to test the functionality of learning objects and ensure adherence to cyber-active template guidelines.

* Checks course settings for consistency and adherence to university standards

* Documents findings and communicates with Instructional Designers and/or Subject Matter Experts (i.e. Course Developers) in regard to reviews based on course development

* Updates course review databases throughout the lifecycle process as directed.

* Reviews instructional design, digital media, and learning objects for courses to ensure compliance with university guidelines, quality standards, and project-specific quality requirements

* Assists in problem-solving of issues in live courses related to broken links, videos or files not working, etc.

Assists with researching online topics related to course quality and standards.

* Reviews courses to determine potential system enhancements and prioritizes high-value quality projects

Position Qualifications:

* Associate's degree

* Minimum of two (2) year technical trouble-shooting experience in an educational or training environment.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

* College-level grammar skills required.

* Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities with strong oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.

* Flexible to meet changing priorities and achieve business objectives.

* Strong problem-solving skills and show attention to detail, with excellent demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

* Ability to work independently, but also as part of a larger team.

Computer Skills:

* Proficiency using Snagit (or screen-capture equivalent)

* General office and internet skills. Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, etc.
