Job Summary
Ensures top-quality standards by performing detailed inspections using advanced equipment, including CMM and Zeiss CT Scanner (training provided). Responsibilities include assisting with PPAP, documenting results, training team members, and driving continuous improvement through expertise in GD&T, MSA, and SPC studies.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Audit and Inspection:
- Assist production and operations by auditing, inspecting, and documenting nonconformances in materials, processes, and procedures.
- Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical, and electrical inspections on purchased parts, machined parts, subassemblies, and completed products.
- Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming materials per documented procedures.
2. Dimensional and Layout Inspections:
- Perform dimensional layouts and document results per PPAP requirements.
- Set up and operate inspection, measuring, and test equipment such as fixed gauges, electrical test equipment, calipers, micrometers, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM, with programming ability), microscopes, and electronic gauging as required by inspection plans and prints.
- Maintain inspection logs as part of quality records.
3. Training and Compliance:
- Train others in the use of inspection equipment, print interpretation, and Quality System procedures.
- Conduct audits of machining and assembly areas to ensure proper use and care of inspection, measuring, and test equipment and compliance with Quality System procedures.
- Manage the gauge calibration system effectively.
4. Continuous Improvement and Documentation:
- Assist with Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) studies.
- Update Manufacturing (MFG) and Receiving (REC) plans when requested.
5. Advanced Inspection Capabilities:
- Operate and manage a Zeiss CT Scanner (full training provided) to enhance inspection capabilities and accuracy.
6. Technical Proficiency:
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Ability to program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to support accurate and efficient inspections.
- Participate in PFMEA as needed.
Qualifications
· Proven experience with CMM and ability to program.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong problem-solving abilities to resolve technical issues.
· Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding statistical information.
· Capable of handling multiple tasks and resolving critical problems.
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training.
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to traverse the production facility to conduct inspections.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
· Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization's physical premises.
Work Hours
- Hours of work are 10 AM to 6:30 PM
