This role focuses on providing strategic direction and driving continuous improvement of Proliant's quality and food safety management systems. A key priority is aligning U.S. and New Zealand manufacturing processes under a single Quality Management System. Additionally, the role collaborates with the Regulatory Specialist to ensure compliance and expand global market access for PHB's diagnostic, nutrition, and therapeutic products. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical/Biochemical Engineering and/or equivalent experience in Nutraceutical or Pharmaceutical quality assurance (QA) required. Experience:
- 5+ years of experience within food ingredient manufacturing, food safety, quality assurance. Experience in animal vaccine production, bulk ingredient or dietary supplement manufacturing, medical device; nutraceutical or pharmaceutical highly preferred.
- Proven skills related to quality assurance or regulatory affairs in a manufacturing and corporate environment, including development/improvement of quality systems and education/training of employees required.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with global export markets highly preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Implement and manage quality assurance activities and strategies.
- Develop and oversee product safety and quality programs to meet/exceed customer and regulatory standards (USDA, FDA, MPI).
- Analyze and communicate critical quality data to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Address food safety and quality concerns with corporate and plant teams.
- Manage the Quality Management System (QMS) for compliance.
- Collaborate with the Regulatory Specialist to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and MPI regulations.
- Monitor domestic and international quality standards to identify risks and opportunities.
- Educate stakeholders on quality decisions and lead ESG program initiatives.
- Support supplier quality processes and coordinate with LGI shared services.
- Prepare and present internal/external reports and represent the company during audits.
- Build and maintain relationships with co-manufacturers, suppliers, and quality teams across LGI.
- Provide tactical support to quality teams as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Leadership.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS: - Expertise in cGMP and ISO:9001 standards.
- Proficiency in food ingredient and dietary supplement safety principles.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and maintain confidentiality.
- Capable of working independently and in a team environment.
- Skilled in technical analysis and presenting complex information.
- Familiarity with LGI's process and product testing procedures.
- Flexible for domestic/international travel and extended hours.
