Our electronics manufacturing client in Wayne County, NY is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector Supervisor to join the Quality Control team. This role will be crucial in overseeing inspection activities across production equipment components, including cables, harnesses, PCB assemblies, and mechanical assemblies. The supervisor will lead a team of approximately seven inspectors, providing hands-on support as needed to maintain high standards of quality.Compensation and Schedule:

  • Pay Rate/Salary: $25-$30/hr ($52,000-$62,000/yr) based on experience and qualifications.
  • Schedule: M-F 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Position Overview:The Quality Control Inspector Supervisor will manage inspection procedures, personnel reviews, and continuous improvement processes. This role requires a hands-on supervisor who will also engage directly in inspections when necessary to support the team and production requirements.Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of around seven inspectors across various departments.
  • Review and develop inspection procedures and quality control protocols.
  • Conduct performance reviews for department personnel.
  • Analyze quality trends and collaborate on process improvements.
  • Work closely with the production manager to prioritize inspection tasks and ensure team support.
Required Qualifications:
  • Certification and experience in soldering to J-STD-001 and IPC-620 standards.
  • Strong skills in identifying defects in circuit boards, such as improper component orientation, cold solder joints, and solder shorts.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, identify polarity on PCB surface mount components, and understand wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
  • Effective communication skills to explain nonconformities and collaborate with engineering and production teams.
Preferred Skills:
  • Proven experience in quality control inspection of electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to train and mentor team members.
  • An Associate's degree in Electronics is a plus.
  • Surface mount repair experience is advantageous.
  • Leadership skills to enforce company policies and set an example for team members.
