JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of the Mt. Vernon Quality Operation, and will manage the lab and lab personnel, lead for customer RC/CAs, lead internal and external quality, and work closely with operations and supply chain to improve quality, improve production yields, and reduce waste and scrap. Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to) managing plant compliance, document control, change control, reduce holds, and customer satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ability to continuously learn on the job and in the classroom as technology changes.
- Prioritize information and tasks within your assigned area.
- Perform data mining and analysis for Field Team, Engineers, TI, and management.
- Attend customer calls as needed.
- Perform daily inspections, Gemba walks.
- Manage finished good batches on hold and develop disposition plans.
- Disposition non-conforming incoming raw materials.
- Communicate work instruction revisions and job ticket changes.
- Review product changes, approve or reject.
- Prepare and participate in ISO, UL internal and external audits, respond to observations.
- Travel to customer visits, audit potential suppliers, develop and implement supplier/Quality agreements, monitor each.
- Update/breakdown quality data for manufacturing teams.
- Manage all aircraft testing protocol, review all samples going out, preparing documentation, packages and performing UD's once results are returned.
- Manage all sheet batches, entering data and performing UD when completed.
- Manage all sheet batches that go out for sawing, receive data from vender, enter data into SAP and perform UD once completed.
- Manage all batches coming in, entering data, and performing UD when completed.
- Attend all weekly hold meetings; attend and report Quality status in required meetings or as directed.
- Track and trend all necessary data, provide reports and recommendations.
- Other tasks: evaluate samples, make determinations for in spec or out of spec, review batch history, IP21 data, customer RCCA history.
- Prepare Quality Alerts, complete RCCA, coordinate/participate in customer calls as needed.
- Monitor future production to validate corrective action.
- This position will be the site ISO/UL Lead position responsible for ensuring site meets ISO/UL requirements and maintains certification. Manages all aspects and duties required of ISO/UL.
- Monitor all aspects lab, direct reports.
- Special assignments as needed; some travel as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required, Natural, Chemical, Physics, Engineering preferred.
- 3+ years in a supervisory role, with direct reports.
- Continuous Improvement experience a plus - experience in Kaizen-6 sigma Greenbelt, Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing, Waste Free Manufacturing, Process Improvement.
- 3+ years of experience with plastic manufacturing such as extrusion and/or injection.
- ISO certified, experience managing the ISO, UL aspects of auditing and maintain certification within a manufacturing plant.
- Experience with SAP, CEOPS, GENSUITE preferred.

Work Availability
Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. The schedule is a Monday -Friday day shift schedule, but there could be times where quality attention is needed on off hours etc. to meet business risk and needs.
