A Day in the Life... Ocean Spray is looking for acreative, collaborative, detail-orientedand results driven Quality Technician to work with the operations team to ensure that all food quality standards are met, with no exceptions, at our Markham productionfacility. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Provide quality testing, analysis and review to ensure that production quality and schedule standards are being achieved. Train and support manufacturing personnel in quality systems to maximize product quality. Initiate problem-solving activities relating to quality parameter issues Support the continuous training, record keeping and maintenance of the food safety and quality practices within the plant. Act as point of contact and through professional judgment and evaluation, suggest resolution to food safety and quality concerns in the absence of the Quality Manager Support and promote food safety and quality program indicatives within the plant environment Calibrate, troubleshoot, maintain, and operate all lab equipment Follow all safety policies and procedures, including laboratory safety and chemical handling Perform QA verification of cleaned equipment, and support/assist with sanitation Perform Positive Release duties and micro testing when required Perform FM investigations and product holds when required Position Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree in Food Science or related field preferred. 1 - 3 years prior production/manufacturing experience OR 2+ years relevant lab technician experience. Food/beverage industry experience a plus. Requires good mathematical ability to perform quality related calculations, good analytical skills, and effective interpersonal communication skills to work constructively in a team environment. Requires good computer, Word processing, and email skills. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to meet deadlines and accomplish tasks accurately while working under pressure. Ability to recognize trends, situations and risks to product quality or food safety, and to timely and properly communicate those findings What We Are Looking For: Education: Bachelor's or University Degree (Preferred) Work Experience: At least 1 Year of Experience Annual Salary: $45,200 - $59,600 The base salary range information above serves as a guideline of the position's typical hiring range.
