As a Quality Technician, this position will support a variety of quality functions related to Lean deployment, gathering & reporting data and measuring performanceJob Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:Performing testing and quality inspections in support of operationsProvide quality support for continuous process improvement and resolving quality issuesTrain new operators on quality tools used in the production processParticipate in daily process improvement dialogue meetings and weekly continuous improvement meetingsPerform Pre-Delivery Inspection for Engines or componentsRespond to Quality Gate IssuesRun tests and experiments to support process improvementsSupport Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activityAudit NPI processes during pilot buildsStatic torque checksPerform finished goods containment when product is suspectImprove work processes, procedures, safety practices, etc.Create Dozuki Standard Work instructionsComplete reports and tasks on a daily basisPerform miscellaneous job duties as directed by managerBasic Qualifications:Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)Top Candidates Will Also Have:High School Diploma or G.E.D.Experience with ETQ document initiation and approvalThorough understanding of Franklin's Defect Investigation processAbility to produce results in deadline-driven assignments and work with minimal supervisionGreat communication skills and the ability to work as a teamWillingness to work with others to resolve problemsAbility to present to a groupExperience reading & interpreting measuring equipment (Go/ No-Go gages, length gages, diameter gauges, micrometers and masters)Experience working in a Cat Remanufacturing facilityKnowledge of engines/engine components and manufacturing processesTroubleshooting skillsAdditional informationCompensation & Benefits Offered!Starting hourly pay rate of $20.59 (pay negotiations based on skills/experience)Work Hours: 5AM – 3:30PM; Monday - Thursday40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime80 hours of vacation with an additional 24 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO)10 Paid holidays100% 401k match up to 6% offered on day 1 of employmentHealth, dental, vision, & life insurance offered on day 1 of employmentPotential annual performance increaseClean/safe work environmentPaid holiday shut down at the end of the year (dependent upon business needs)All eligible candidates MUST pass the following pre-employment screenings before they can be hired to any Caterpillar position:Background ScreeningDrug & Alcohol ScreeningPost-Offer Medical Questionnaire - clearance from Corporate MedicalPlease ensure you frequently sign in to your candidate home for any updates or correspondence for positions that you have applied for. a frequent check on emails as correspondence will be sent to the email that you used to apply with.
