Job DescriptionWe are looking for a talented Quality Technician (Romer)- 2ndShift to join our team specializing in Quality for our Cummins Inc. facility in Mineral Point, WI.In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Ensure Technical Compliance: By ensuring that products received or produced meet technical specifications, you will maintain high standards of quality and reliability.
  • Verify Product Quality: Verifying the final quality of products on the production line will help identify and address any defects before products reach customers.
  • Identify Defects: Comparing the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications will allow you to identify and separate defective items, ensuring only high-quality products are delivered.
  • Use Measurement Techniques: Utilizing both basic and complex measurement techniques and equipment, you will accurately assess product quality and maintain consistency.
  • Document Non-Conforming Products: By documenting products that do not meet technical specifications using specified systems, you will provide valuable data for continuous improvement and quality control.
  • Train Others: Training others in the use of measurement equipment, segregation of non-conforming products, and documentation will enhance the overall quality assurance capabilities of your team.
  • Adhere to Quality Standards: Following the norms and standards of quality defined by the company will ensure that all processes and products meet established benchmarks.
  • Support Continuous Improvement: Your role in identifying defects and documenting non-conforming products will contribute to ongoing efforts to improve processes and product quality.

  • Master Measurement Science: Analyze measurement processes to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty. Apply your knowledge of metrology across various domains (e.g., Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical) to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
  • Apply Quality Process Management: Utilize quality tools and methods (e.g., APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC) to ensure the quality of products, processes, and services. This will help maintain high standards and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the Laboratory: Lead technical resources and manage the business aspects of the laboratory. Ensure compliance with certifications and accreditations and use measures to control both technical and business aspects effectively.
  • Stay Organized and Detail-Oriented: Keep meticulous records and documentation. Attention to detail will help you maintain accuracy and consistency in your work.
  • Engage in Continuous Learning: Stay updated on best practices and advancements in your field. Continuous learning will help you adapt to new challenges and improve your skills.
Education/Experience:High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.QualificationsAdditional Information:
  • Component and assembled part layout following prints Finished goods audit.
  • Line Romer for quality concerns.
  • Support Calibration system (inspection, test equipment, functional gauges)
  • Assist with the development of JQA's (Job Quality Analysis Sheets)
  • Legibly document & record data collected on inspection forms.
  • Keep work area safe and clean (5S - Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
