We are working with a Tier 1 Hedge Fund that is looking to bring on a Quantitative Trading Associate/Analyst to join one of the most prestigious pods within the fund, focused on futures, ETFs, and equities in a systematic, high frequency environment. This position will allow one to sit alongside traders on the desk and get exposure to the full trading lifecycle while supporting traders with reporting, reconciliation, and automation tasks, along with other ad-hoc duties.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze previous day's trading activity reports, document findings, and enhance reports as needed.
- Develop new ad-hoc reports and controls using Python, Shell, and MySQL in a Linux environment.
- Manage trading inventory using in-house trading tools.
- Automate daily controls and streamline existing processes.
- Identify operational risks and design new controls as necessary.
- Coordinate and follow up on trading platform production changes.
- Participate in performance monitoring and optimization efforts.
- Follow up on production incidents and outages with internal teams.
- Collaborate with traders on the active trading desk, reporting to the COO.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or an equivalent STEM field.
- 1-5 years of experience in a trading analyst role at a bank or buy-side shop
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Proficiency in Linux and familiarity with SQL.
- Exceptional analytical abilities, strong communication skills, and experience in making data-driven strategic decisions.
- Strong working knowledge of PNL and risk reporting applications.
- Familiarity with current market structure and regulatory developments.
- Ability to understand and diagnose problems in complex real-time systems with minimal guidance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong understanding of trading technology and fluency in technical concepts.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
