Every day is an adventure, and an opportunity for personal and professional growth.ResponsibilitiesThis position supports the PepsiCo Beverages North America & Global Beverages Food Safety Quality Assurance Team. The successful candidate will conduct food safety and quality risk assessments, drive conformance and ensure continuous improvement to PepsiCo standards, specifications and the Technical Stage Gate process. This will be accomplished through collaboration with a variety of stakeholders such as Product Development, Global Food Safety, Packaging, Global Procurement, Supply Chain and Starbucks Partners. As a Associate Principal Engineer you will lead the food safety and quality of New Product Innovation initiatives for the North American Coffee Partnership. You will drive new products forward following the Technical Stage Gate (TSG) process. Other key actions for this position include:* Conduct and execute food safety risk assessments on new innovations.* Develop and deliver subject matter expertise across all existing and new beverage platforms such as high acid aseptic, low acid aseptic and retort.* Writing and overseeing new product qualifications.* Writing and overseeing new product commercial sterility runs.* Use the 3rd Party Manufacturing Standard to assess and approve 3PM facilities.* Apply the 3rd Party Manufacturing Tier Approach to qualify new production lines for innovation.* Create and drive the CAPA for new product innovation at our 3rd Party Manufacturers.* Use quality tools such as FMEA, checklists, cause and effect diagrams, root cause analysis, Pareto analysis, control charts, histograms and process capability matrices to drive improvement.* Writing / maintaining platform manufacturing control plans (MCPs).* Collaborate with Product Development, Global Food Safety and Supply Chain for new product innovation.Compensation & Benefits:* The expected compensation range for this position is between $85,200 - $142,650 based on a full-time schedule.* Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.* Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually.* Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.* In addition to salary, PepsiCo offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees and their families, subject to elections and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Insurance (Accident, Group Legal, Life), Defined Contribution Retirement Plan.Qualifications* B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Food Science, Packaging or related discipline.* 5+ years (B.S.) of experience in the food industry (beverage preferred), or other consumer goods company.* Previous experience desirable in CPG R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Packaging, Auditing, product/packaging or technology development roles.* GFSI knowledge required. * HACCP certified preferred.* PCQI certification preferred.Strong communication skills: * having the ability to clearly communicate to a wide audience what is needed and when it is needed by and the ability to follow up.* Highly proficient presentation skills: ability to create and deliver effective PowerPoint presentations to a variety of audiences.* Willingness to work in a dynamic environment while leading and delivering projects.* High degree of attention to detail, highly numerate and computer literate (Microsoft Office).* Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence with integrity through persuasive communication to win support at more senior levels within R&D, Global Procurement and Supply Chain, and to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders from different levels, backgrounds and cultures.* Self-starter, self-motivating: able to balance competing priorities without losing momentum.* Good understanding and appreciation of the broader business environment and application of technical and commercial knowledge during project execution.* Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and distil into meaningful information.* Fosters a positive, inclusive work environment where people feel respected and valued for their contributions.
