The Asbell Center for Jewish Life at Dickinson College is seeking a rabbinic intern to serve one or two long weekends per month for Academic Year 2024-2025. This intern's portfolio will focus on building relationships with Dickinson's less engaged Jewish students and supporting drop-in opportunities that will help to support their exploration of their Jewish Identity at Dickinson College. The rabbinic intern will be supervised by Rabbi Marley Weiner, the Director of the Asbell Center for Jewish Life.
Excellent candidates will be interested in exploring a career in Jewish Life on campus; creative and flexible in their educational and pastoral approaches; and excited to work intersectionally with a variety of campus groups and administrators.
Essential functions:
* Creating and leading holiday programming where appropriate, including opportunities to participate in leading High Holiday services
* Co-teaching and supporting our Shabbat Hosting Lab program in conjunction with Rabbi Marley
* Participating in one-on-one engagement conversations with Jewish students as well as students of all backgrounds who are interested in participating in Jewish Life
* Join students for Shabbat services and dinner
* Crafting opportunities for Jewish students on the periphery to build community and explore Jewish Identity. These opportunities will emerge out of engagement conversations
The Rabbinic internship at Dickinson College pays $15,000-$17,000 for six weekends per semester plus the High Holidays and Passover, for a total of 15 visits. In addition, the college will provide a travel stipend and housing during work visits.

The Asbell Center for Jewish Life has served the Jewish community of Dickinson College for the past 21 years, which includes approximately 190 Jewish students, as well as Jewish faculty, staff, and local Carlisle community members. The Center is part of the College's office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and works with the LGBTQ+ Center, the Popal Shaw Center for Race and Ethnicity, the Women's and Gender Resource Center, Access and Disability Services, and the Center for Spirituality and Social Justice to address issues of equity and inclusion on Dickinson's campus.
