Our top-tier benefits and great retirement packages can help you build a rewarding career and lasting future with the State of Illinois.Essential FunctionsProcesses applications and inquiries regarding radioactive material licenses.Processes all incoming and outgoing correspondence regarding Division inspections, incidents, and licensing requests.Processes inspection reports from state radioactive material inspectors.Processes requests for purchases, tracks deliverables and makes deductions from appropriate cost centers, and serves as the Division's primary SAP data entry representative.Processes requests and notification of reciprocal work under other U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission or Agreement State licenses and inspection reports from state inspectors for radioactive materials.Performs the duties of assigned team position as specified in the Standard Operating Procedures of the Illinois Plan for Radiological Accidents.Performs other duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.Minimum QualificationsRequires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of (a) a bachelor's degree supplemented with two (2) years of professional technical experience in a radiation-related field; or (b) a certificate of completion of an agency approved two (2) year training program in a radiation-related field (such as x-ray technology, etc.) supplemented with four (4) years of professional technical experience in a radiation-related field, or (c) an associate degree supplemented with four (4) years of professional technical experience in a radiation-related field.Preferred QualificationsOne (1) year of experience working with data entry systems, record review and data quality practices.One (1) year of experience answering public inquiries on technical topics.One (1) year of experience accurately proofreading technical documents.Extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.Conditions of EmploymentRequires a criminal history check through the Illinois State Police.Requires the ability to use state-supplied equipment such as a cell phone, laptop, etc.Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires appropriate, valid driver's license.Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime.
