This Radwaste Shipper position is for the Crane Clean Energy Center in Middletown, PA (near Harrisburg). Expected salary range of $111,600 to $124,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k). PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Responsible for the administration of the radioactive materials shipping and receiving program to ensure the station is meeting all state, federal, and company regulations. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Oversee the shipping and receiving of radioactive materials including associated inspections and authorizations for shipment. Ensure completion of all required paperwork associated with the receipt/shipment of radioactive materials including proper maintenance and retention of records.
- Perform curie content calculations, classification of radwaste shipments, and 10CFR61 analysis. Ensures that the appropriate computer programs for radioactive material shipments are maintained.
- Keep abreast of industry changes regarding radioactive shipping regulations and guidelines and incorporate changes into existing station procedures.
- Other assignments as directed by the Technical Support Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BS degree in health physics or related science degree with 3 years' experience in radiation protection or
- Associate Degree in health physics or related science degree and 5 years of experience in radiation protection (two years at the exempt-level in radiation protection) or
- High School Diploma and 7 years of experience in radiation protection (three years exempt-level experience in radiation protection)
- Successful completion of radwaste shipping training classes or the ability to complete within 6 months hire date.
- Must have demonstrated written and oral communicative skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of NRRPT or CHP certification
- Previously qualified as a Radwaste shipper
