Job SummaryThis is an entry level position and we will provide on-the-job training! Our Facility Service Operators perform a variety of duties at refinery and terminal customer locations including connecting/disconnect tanker trucks, rail cars, cargo ships or barges for loading or unloading liquid or bulk cargos and light facility maintenance. This position reports into our Port Arthur, TX office and works out of a customer facility in a surrounding area.
Qualifications and Skills- Must live in Beaumont area or at least within a 30 mile radius
- Must be able to work days/nights/weekends on either 8 or 12 hour shifts
- Pay is based on work experience (no guarantee/no mileage)
- Must have the physical stamina to climb, lift, carry and pull on fueling hoses of 60 pounds to complete the task & still have the foresight to recognize when assistance is needed.
- Valid Driver License and dependable transportation with current liability insurance
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, Drug and Alcohol screen
- Ability to climb 8-10 foot stairways and/or ladders for gauging trucks.
- Must possess color vision and depth perception sufficient to recognize color-coded objects such as electrical components, navigation lights, hazardous cargo placards, warning signals, and valves.
- Must be capable of hearing alarms, unusual noises in operating machinery, and signals from boat or personnel by radio, telephone, or voice communicator.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- These are a plus but NOT required:
- TWIC
- Basic safety council
- 40 Hour Hazwoper training
Key Job Responsibilities in Refinery and / or Terminal Operations:- Spot, connect, disconnect Rail Cars for loading or unloading liquid or bulk cargos
- Monitor the loading or unloading of Rail Cars
- Monitor and Operate Shore Side Flare or VDU (vapor destruction unit)
- Open and close valves throughout the facility for transfers to or from shore tanks to tanker trucks, or rail cars or boarding cargo ships and barges
- Operate locomotive along with working the ground for In-Plant rail car switching
- Clear and clean shore side pipelines and hoses for various liquid cargos
- Perform light plant maintenance up to and including housekeeping and lawn services as requested
- Fill in as needed at other facilities and call-out docks
- Maintain current Area Safety Council Training and participate in company and customer safety meetings
- Adhere to company and facility specific safety guidelines
