JOB SUMMARY: The Raw Materials Operations Tech unloads rail cars and trucks and sees that the materials are placed in the correct tanks and feeds cullet into the crushing system. The RMOT also performs routine maintenance and preventive maintenance on batch house equipment.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Moves Rail Cars, Cullet Hoppers, dumpsters, and pallets as required
- Receives Rail Cars and Delivery Trucks, samples and unloads them properly accounting for all material and paperwork. Authorizes the PLC with the assistance of a Lead Operator or Manager to see that materials go in the correct silo
- Performs daily, weekly and monthly environmental checks and recordkeeping as required Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment in batch house
- Conducts Safety inspections of all mobile equipment prior to each shift; Does not operate unsafe equipment
- Creates work orders as necessary for maintenance of the batch house
- Keeps Batch House neat and orderly
- Verifies Inventory in each silo daily and records in materials log
- Attends production meetings-provides input for safety, environmental, quality and cost improvement and for otherwise
- Ensures plant operates within established safety, environmental, process, quality, and efficiency parameters-directs team
- Attends scheduled plant problem solving meetings and actively participates/presents solutions to identified deficiencies
- Directly communicates/coordinates with Management/Maintenance to ensure all scheduled maintenance is completed
- Manages Cullet Pile
- Trained and participates in Confined space entry and monitoring and LOTO
- Must understand production reporting requirements and must have a good knowledge of the various raw materials used and where they must go
- Performs routine visual and audible inspections of all equipment to ensure proper operation
- Must be familiar with all material processing flows and be able to troubleshoot basic problems as they occur
- Certified and operates the forklift in a safe and efficient manner; performs shift checks on forklift and refueling as required
- Certified and operates the front-end loader and track mobile in a safe and efficient manner; performs shift checks on loader and refueling as
- Additional duties assigned by Manager, as needed
JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTSEducation:
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience with bulk material handling and storage
- 3 to 5 years forklift operations and/or certification preferred
Certification:
- Forklift certification preferred
Skills & Knowledge
- Experience in plant safety systems such as Confined Space entry, Hot Work permitting and Lockout/Tagout of industrial equipment
- Basic skills in areas of interfacing with industrial instrumentation and PLCs
- Ability to use computer - basic computer skills
- Works well with others - Good Teamwork skills
- Strong Work Ethic

- Detail and Organizational Skills
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing Plant Environment
- Glass Manufacturing Plant environment with high ambient temperatures
Mon- Fri 7AM-3PM until March 2025
