Responsibilities:

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and respiratory director/manager, the Respiratory Care Practitioner Specialty is responsible for performing advanced respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. The RCP Specialty specializes in the stabilization and transfer of newborns and pediatric patients. The RCP Specialty shall have prior experience in providing critical care support in departments such as NICU, ER, and ICU. With a focus on assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care, the RCP Specialty addresses age and population-specific needs and requirements of patients. In the absence of a supervisor, the RCP Specialty may be assigned as Lead RCP, taking responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required. 2. State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required 3. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. 4. ACLS certificate within 30 day of hire and maintain current. 5. Minimum of 6 months of independent work experience in a specialty area such as NICU, ER, or ICU.NRP certificate preferred 6. NRP certificate preferred 7. Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred 8. High School Diploma or equivalent is required
