Prior experience in waste management is a plus, and it will position you as an ideal candidate for this essential role.Pay and Schedule:* Competitive Wages: Starting between $35.00 and $35.50/HR* Typical Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays as needed, totaling a 45-hour workweek.Duties and Responsibilities:* Safely operate a rear-load garbage truck along designated routes.* Efficiently service customers by collecting recyclables as per route sheets.* Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance.* Perform physically demanding tasks, including loading and unloading refuse.* Operate hydraulic controls to lift and dispose of trash at designated facilities.* Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers.Working Conditions and Physical Effort:* Involves frequent heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 100 pounds.* Adherence to safety protocols due to exposure to mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.* Moderate noise levels and occasional exposure to fumes.Minimum Job Requirements:* Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement required (Class A CDL not required).* Proficiency in English (reading, writing, communicating); high school diploma or equivalent preferred.* Minimum one year of directly related experience.* Basic knowledge of truck components for pre-and post-trip inspections.* Safety-sensitive: YESWe offer excellent benefits including: medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, long term & short term disability, life insurance, 401K retirement and unlimited opportunities to Connect with Your Future .A link to our benefits overview can be found here: Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
