Job Description :

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming shipments of goods, materials, and supplies in the warehouse. This role ensures that all products meet quality standards, are properly labeled, and are stored in the correct locations within the warehouse. The Receiving Clerk plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting efficient warehouse operations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and Inspect Shipments: Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments by comparing them with purchase orders, packing lists, and bills of lading. Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report any issues to the Warehouse Manager/Supervisor.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately log received items into the inventory management system, ensuring all documentation is complete and properly filed.
  • Labeling and Storage: Label incoming goods and materials with appropriate information, including product codes, descriptions, and quantities. Store items in designated warehouse locations following established storage procedures.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality checks on received items to ensure they meet company standards and specifications. Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by conducting regular cycle counts and participating in physical inventory audits.
  • Communication: Work closely with the Purchasing, Inventory, and Shipping teams to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations. Communicate any receiving issues or delays promptly.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a warehouse or receiving role is preferred but not required.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification may be required).
    • Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to [specify weight, e.g., 50 lbs.] regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse conditions, including temperature changes and noise.
Work Environment: This position works primarily in a warehouse environment with frequent exposure to machinery and moving equipment.
