Petmate/Doskocil Mfg., Inc was founded in 1960 as an innovative manufacturer and supplier of crates and kennels used by the airline industry to transport pets. We have Distribution Centers in Texas and Kansas.As a Distribution Receiving Clerk, you will be given the opportunity to create and provide excellent customer service within the distribution center. To be successful, the candidate must be able to get things done and effectively perform warehousing and distribution activities including order pulling, stocking, truck loading/unloading, receiving, cycle counting, packing or shipping. The employee is expected to perform these tasks at posted standards for the Distribution Center, for productivity for each function and to perform the task with a high degree of accuracy and quality. You will be responsible:
  • Ensuring containers are checked in and out in an efficient & timely manner
  • You will coordinate emails between the drayage company and Logistics team
  • Provide yard check assignment sheets to transportation team
  • Advise leadership team of potential demmurage fees due to unload delays
  • You will help coordinate live unload containers with Logistics team
  • You will manage paperwork such as packing list and invoice for receipt accuracy
  • Audit all putaway tasks to verify accuracy with overall building inventory
  • Coordinate with unload crew to maintain proper staffing levels and reliable team members
  • Collaborate with Inventory Control and Logistics teams to manage overages, shortages, and damaged product.
The Receiving Clerk will be guided by the Company's Vision statement, policies and procedures. High attention to detail is a must for this position.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilize the Company Vision statement as the primary guide for decision making. Support and encourage behavior that reflects the term customer refers to suppliers, and all company employees.
  • Work within Petmate's safety policies and safety programs in a uniform and consistent manner so that employee injuries and illnesses can be prevented and compliance with federal, state and local regulations can be achieved.
  • Follow proper lifting techniques including team lifting when items are too heavy for individual lifting.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized facility through diligent housekeeping efforts. Employees are required to assist in keeping aisles open and free of trash as well as picking up after themselves.
  • Use computer and other devices provided in warehouse automation systems with care, report any unsafe or malice activities that could damage the automation or computer systems.
  • Equipment operation - Utilize only when properly trained. Depending on specific duties, employees will be required to train on and operate various types of material handling equipment.
  • Security - every employee is considered to be a member of the distribution center security team and as such has responsibility for the security and integrity of the premises, equipment, inventory, and company information.
  • Employees must be flexible in work hours available including overtime and be able to respond to varying workloads without prior notice. Report to work every day, on time, as scheduled.
