As a Shoppers World Associate, you will be expected to uphold and demonstrate these values at all times. As a Receiving Manager you are responsible for the flow of merchandise from a central point of deliver to the selling floor, stockroom, or another internal destination. You may be responsible for receiving, unpacking, processing, organizing, storing, packaging, and labeling merchandise. The Receiving Manager reports to the Store Manager. Responsibilities:
  • Maintains a high level of customer service skills
    • Greets Customers in a timely manner
    • Assist customers to determine their wants and needs
    • Shows the customer the merchandise
    • Thanks the customer
  • Knowledgeable on general company policies and procedures that apply to the store. (example: store hours, other locations, layaway process, text promo)
  • Has basic knowledge on the merchandise that is carried.
  • Understands and executes all merchandise receiving, shipping, and inventory management standards.
    • Accept deliveries
    • Process goods per company goals
  • Daily communication with Store Management on receiving related needs.
  • Can follow directions accordingly.
  • Performs tasks as assigned in a timely manner
  • Adheres to company policies to protect company assets.
  • Maintains work space including receiving and stockroom areas by keeping things neat and organized.
  • Can follow directions accordingly. Can multi task efficiently.
  • Communicates well with customers, store associates, and management.
  • Works well with others.

Physical Requirements of the Job
  • Must stand for the duration of work shift
  • Must be able to unload/lift/move multiple boxes weighing on average 35-50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend to assist customers select items merchandised on low fixtures.
  • Must be able to push/pull carts with multiple cartons.
  • Must be able to unload items off a truck.
Qualifications for Receiving Manager Experience: Prior retail receiving experience preferred. The candidate should have at least 2 (+) years experience in the receiving process. Education Level: High School Graduate level or above. Candidate must possess a basic proficiency in English, Math, Reading, and Computer Skills.
  • Must be reliable and work in a flexible schedule environment (including evenings, weekends, and holidays)
  • Outstanding communication, written, computer, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in receiving.
  • Neat and organized.
  • Experience in training and leading a small group of associates.
  • Ability to react quickly to company directives.
  • Can work in a fast paced team environment.
  • Must be multi task oriented.
