Posting DetailsPosition Information Job Title Receptionist, Office of Advancement (part-time) Position Purpose The Receptionist in the Office of Advancement is an important role in a department that receives outside visitors to campus and current students seeking the career services office. The Receptionist is responsible for helping the visitor to feel comfortable and have their needs met.Essential Duties Summary
  • Act as liaison between the department and all internal/external constituents;
  • Answer phones and receive incoming visitors;
  • Respond to questions, problems, and concerns;
  • Enter and edit departmental data;
  • Organize and maintain files and records;
  • Compile and sort a variety of department related information;
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and events;
  • Coordinate events with other departments;
  • Perform research projects as needed.
Required Qualifications Education/Licensure
  • High school diploma, with some college background desirable
Experience
  • Two to four years of relevant experience, or comparable knowledge and skills are required
Skills and Knowledge
  • Excellent phone and personal reception skills
  • Ability to converse comfortably and clearly with many different types of people and to deal with callers and visitors in a courteous, efficient, and congenial manner
  • Good clerical and basic administrative and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of and competency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to learn a wide range of basic information about College programs, policies and procedures
