A combination of education and experience with minimum of high school diploma. 2. Public relations skills. 3. General knowledge of standard office procedures. 4. Knowledge of McComb School Districts' policies. 5. Pride in job done, interest in public education. 6. General knowledge of the community and needs of pupils. 7. Demonstrate competence in the use of business machines and computers. 8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: School Principal SUPERVISES: Student helper as applicable. JOB GOAL: To assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the school's maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Perform clerical duties, such as filing, typing, preparing stencils, relaying messages, and operating office machines. 2. Perform secretarial duties for principal by arranging appointments and maintaining an appointment calendar, receiving visitors, answering and screening all telephone calls. 3. Do all reports, both routine and special as required or assigned. 4. Maintain proper bookkeeping for financial transactions. 5. Receive, receipt, and account for all funds and prepare for deposit. 6. Receive and open all mail. 7. Keep accurate account of all cumulative records. 8. Request records as necessary. 9. Send records when requested. 10. Record pertinent data on cumulative records (test scores, grades, etc.). 11. Assist counselors with necessary record keeping and related correspondence. 12. Prepare and maintain personnel records. 13. Provide minor first aid, and arrange for care of ill or injured pupils, notify parents in case of emergency. 14. Readmit pupils after absences, release pupils to parents after sign out. 15. Lend and collect lunch money from school emergency lunch funds. 16. Request maintenance needs. 17. Request all transportation needs--normal, special and emergency--to transportation. 18. Keep daily and complete monthly attendance reports. 19. Keep an accurate account on enrolling and withdrawing pupils. 20. Requisition and keep account of materials and supplies. 21. Handle inquiries about school zone, enrollment, and instructional program. 22. Act as liaison between school and PTA: prepare materials for PTA activities. 23. Check school equipment and request repairs. 24. Inventory textbooks; order workbooks as needed. 25. Perform such other duties as assigned by the Principal.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Trustees. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
