Starting Pay $15.12-$16.67 DOE The Villages at Copa Health are looking for unique and dynamic people to fill the role of Recovery Coach. Recovery Coaches engage directly with members in group settings, ranging from small (10 members) to large (25 members). They demonstrate and model whole-person wellness, using their own talents, hobbies, and experiences to inspire and guide others. Recovery Coaches support individuals living with mental health conditions by facilitating connections to primary healthcare and promoting comprehensive wellness activities. They deliver skills training and engaging activities aligned with SAMHSA's 8 dimensions of wellness, using a Tell, Show, Do approach to teaching. Coaches also adhere to HIPAA and the ACA Code of Ethics.To view the program visit MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- High school diploma/GED and 1 year of relevant experience in a behavioral health setting required.
- Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health field preferred.
- Peer Support Certification is highly desirable.
- Experience working with multicultural and low socio-economic populations.
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety
- Must meet Copa's authorized driver requirements, including a valid AZ driver's license, a 39-month MVR, proof of insurance, and vehicle registration, if applicable.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening.
- TB test clearance required upon hire and annually.
- Physical test clearance required
JOB SUMMARY (Including, but not limited to):
- Lead, mentor, and support members in group settings, covering various topics aligned with the 8 dimensions of wellness, including self-care, emotional well-being, financial management, culture, environmental awareness, and relationship building.
- Accompany members on community outings and introduce them to additional community resources.
- Ensure the well-being of individuals served by providing a structured daily schedule of support groups, classes, outings, and work exploration activities.
- Model and promote physical activities and wellness exercises to enhance understanding of physical health benefits.
- Conduct classroom and group sessions that highlight other wellness practices.
- Teach life skills such as financial management, social skills, educational pursuits, environmental awareness, household management, and effective coping strategies for mental health.
- Organize both onsite and offsite activities, ensuring they are engaging and aligned with members' interests.
- Accurately document daily activities, emphasizing whole-person wellness as outlined by SAMHSA's 8 dimensions.
- Communicate respectfully and use recovery-focused language, maintaining a person-centered approach.
- Ensure all activities align with each member's Treatment Plan/Recovery Vision.
- Develop and implement lesson plans to teach skills in a group setting using a structured approach.
- To ensure compliance & adequate services, additional job duties may be required to meet the needs of the program and or department
