Meridian Behavioral Health LLC is a leader in behavioral health care and addiction recovery services. This an entry level position whose most significant requirement is that you have compassion for our patients. Whether you're a server wanting to get out of the industry or a seasoned healthcare worker interested in working with a different patient population, we find this position is extremely rewarding and a good stepping stone for a career in mental health and/or addiction recovery.

How Our Staff Describes the Job:

Make sure patients are going to their groups. Interact with them, show you care they are struggling. Make sure they are following the rules, even if they don't agree with some of them. If a new patient comes in, make them feel welcome. Show them to their room, help them unpack. Some patients have outside appointments, drive them there. - Jenny at Beauterre Recovery Institute (Owatonna, MN)

A Recovery Specialist is here to help guide patients back into this reality. Many patients are not able to or were not taught the skills that we expect them to know because they are adults when they get here. So we help get them on the routine of every day, and help them get to group. We are here if they need something, if they have questions, if they need to talk. We help get them to appointments. We observe behavior and let counselors know when things seem off. We are basically the marshmallows that keep the Rice Krispies connected. We help make the facility run smoother. - Carley at Beauterre Recovery Institute (Owatonna, MN)

The Only Requirements Are:

  • That you have a valid driver's license.
  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Be at least one year free from chemical abuse problems.

Recommended Qualities and Experience:

Being in recovery and around alcoholics and addicts. I also have over 30 years in customer service. - Julie at Beauterre Recovery Institute (Owatonna, MN)

Having a good attitude, being friendly. Have a good attendance record, don't be late everyday. Being able to talk to people in a respectful manner. Be honest with your boss as well as the patients. - Karen at Beauterre Recovery Institute (Owatonna, MN)

Why We Enjoy This Job:

This job may be difficult at times, but absolutely so rewarding. Whether you're in recovery yourself, or have a loved one who struggled with addiction, being able to be a part of this kind of environment on a daily basis is an amazing experience. - Logan at Beauterre Recovery Institute (Owatonna, MN)
