DescriptionApply your experience working with individuals on the road to recovery from drug and alcohol addiction at BHN! Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Recovery Specialist in the Connections program at Behavioral Health Network! Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Connections program with the following:
  • Supporting the growth, independence, and safety of the individuals served.
  • Providing guidance and direct counseling as needed and acting as a role model to others.
  • Facilitating diverse client groups as well as providing crisis intervention and emergency services, as needed.
  • Completing program specific forms, documentation, and progress and group notes in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Using the staff log to convey individual and program information to other staff.
  • Using a personal vehicle for transportation of individuals, as needed.
  • Completing individually assigned duties such as room checks, house laundry, etc.
  • Reporting any program-specific safety and maintenance concerns.
  • Attending and participating in staff meetings, in-services, and other mandatory trainings.
Who are we?The Connections program offers residential substance use disorder treatment for adults 18 years of age and older as an alternative to incarceration. The multidisciplinary team at Connections partners with each program participant to create a strengths-based, goal-oriented treatment plan to provide a road map to meet individuals' self-identified goals for improved physical and behavioral health, stable housing, educational or vocational pursuits, parenting needs, and recovery supports. The goal of treatment is to assist individuals in navigating the challenges of early recovery and help them to develop the skills needed to reduce risk of relapse or further engagement with the justice system. What are we looking for in a Recovery Specialist?
  • Commitment to client empowerment and growth, human rights, and community integration.
  • One year of experience working with substance abuse population (required).
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (required).
  • LADC II or LADC III (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Assistants) or equivalent (preferred).
  • Valid Driver's License (required).
  • Vehicle for use during all working hours should be registered and inspected in accordance with 540 CMR 4.00 (required).
