We are seeking a caring and qualified individual to join our close-knit team in support of our mission within our residential program.Full Time - 32+ hours per weekPay range: $19.00 - $21.00 Depending on experiencePosition OverviewAs a member of management, the Recovery Technician Supervisor (RTS) is responsible for providing effective leadership, supervision, and support to Integrations Wellness & Recovery Center's (IWRC) Recovery Technician team. The RTS, under the direction of the CEO and COO and in coordination with the Office Manager, Treatment Director, Registered Nurse, and Counselor Supervisor, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day facility operations of IWRC's 20 bed women's residential program and provide additional support to IWRC's overall operations. As an essential part of the multidisciplinary team, the RTS is instrumental in ensuring that the Recovery Technician team creates and maintains an emotionally and physically safe environment that fosters and supports recovery from mental health and substance use disorders. As a part of the Recovery Technician Team, the RTS will lead by example, effectively and compassionately supervise and manage client behavior, manage crisis situations, and assist in the direct support of a wide range of program goals. This is a direct service position. Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the mission and philosophy of Integrations Wellness & Recovery Center, LLC (IWRC) through personal conduct and concern for the agency, management, co-workers, supervisees, clients, and the community at large both during and outside of work hours, including what is represented on social media.
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of the overall organization's strategic planning, contributing to the growth of IWRC through ideas and suggestions, adapting to the changing needs of the position and program as they occur.
- Work as an integral part of the management and multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure effective treatment for all clients served, from admission through discharge.
- Delegate and assign duties to the Recovery Technician team and observe performance to ensure adherence to IWRC's policies and established operating procedures.
- Select or assist in the selection and hiring of IWRC Recovery Technician staff and in collaboration with the Office and Human Resources Manager, to include advertising open positions, monitoring applications received, scheduling and conducting interviews, negotiating pay within the approved pay scale, processing and maintaining all new hire paper works, and maintaining Recovery Technician personnel files throughout their employment.
- Review employee performance within the appropriate timelines and in coordination with the COO and Office and Human Resources Manager, as well as conduct necessary personnel actions, including maintaining appropriate documentation of employment concerns and conducting disciplinary actions up to and including terminations.
- Completed and maintain the Recovery Technician schedule to ensure that all shifts are covered as per the minimum regulatory requirements and based on the census and needs of the current clients served. Monitor schedule on an ongoing basis to address any needs that arise. Ensure scheduling practices account for the approved budget, minimizing overtime as able.
- Role model behavior that is consistent with and supportive of people of diverse backgrounds in recovery from mental health and substance use conditions, including understanding and following agency policies & procedures and program rules and regulations. Monitor and coach Recovery Technician staff to do the same.
- Be available to clients seeking guidance or support, as well as responding appropriately, with professional boundaries and within the scope of the role, to identified client needs. Monitor and coach Recovery Technician staff to do the same.
- Monitor the activities of clients, including within the facility, on the grounds, and in the community.
- Reinforce client strengths and appropriately respond to and redirect behavioral concerns according to program guidelines. Appropriately address any inappropriate or suspected inappropriate client behavior and communicate to the clinical treatment team. Monitor and coach Recovery Technician staff to do the same.
- Provide consistency in programming by upholding and reinforcing clinical decisions made surrounding client privileges and/or restrictions. Monitor and coach Recovery Technician staff to do the same.
- Monitor client health needs and assist in the self-administration and/or administration of medications in accordance with agency policy and medical staff instructions. Conduct breath analysis and urinalysis collection as requested. In collaboration with the Nursing Team, monitor and coach Recovery Technician staff to do the same.
- Know and understand the Grievance Policy to assist clients in navigating the process to resolve grievances at the lowest level in a timely manner. Receive, document and resolve or assist management in resolving complaints and grievances according to policy. Monitor and coach Recovery Technician staff to do the same.
- Assign Recovery Technician staff to transport clients to directed activities, appointments, or functions, monitoring behavior, attendance and ensure safe return to the facility. Ensure scheduling based on driver availability. Personally transport clients using a company vehicle or your personal vehicle based on agency policy.
- Respond to mental and/or physical health emergencies calmly, professionally, and according to agency policies and procedures. Monitor and coach Recovery Technician staff to do the same.
- Implement health, safety, and emergency procedures according to agency policy and consistent with OSHA, Minnesota Department of Health, and Department of Human Services regulations. Monitor and coach Recovery Technician staff to do the same.
- Understand and follow incident/accident reporting policies and procedures and vulnerable adult reporting policies and procedures. Follow up on any incident/accident reports received in a timely fashion. Monitor and coach Recovery Technician staff to do the same.
- Complete general cleaning and light maintenance duties and assist/oversee clients' preparation of meals according to a prepared menu. Monitor and coach Recovery Technician staff to do the same.
- Ensure property, grounds, physical plant and work areas are maintained to standard. Respond to any Recovery Technician maintenance requests received. Work with the office manager to schedule any necessary repairs that cannot be completed in house.
- Maintain and monitor the weekly menu according to current and projected census. Maintain accurate inventory in all areas to ensure that groceries and supplies are ordered and stocked in advance of need. Work with the Office Manager to monitor purchasing to ensure that it remains within approved budget.
- Participate in bi-weekly (every other week) on-call rotation, which requires ability to respond 24/7 by phone and/or in person in case of client or employee emergencies.
- Communicate with clients, families, referral sources, and outside healthcare providers in a professional manner.
- Maintain and contribute to a physically and emotionally safe, inclusive, and collaborative work and care environment that allows for client-centered healing and growth and that honors, respects, and encourages the sharing of diverse perspectives and experiences by clients and team members.
- Provide culturally sensitive and relevant services to diverse clients and their families. Provide a culturally sensitive and responsive work environment for employees.
- Record pertinent client data within the electronic medical record and electronic medication administration record at a level appropriate to the role consistent with program policies and procedures, MN Statute 245G, and payer specific requirements. Monitor the record keeping of the Recovery Technician team and provide coaching as needed.
- Maintain client confidentiality and safeguard personally identifiable health information in accordance with duties and current agency HIPAA notification statement and standards including 42CFR.
- Complete all required agency training within required timeframes, whether in person or through the web-based Relias training system. Assign, monitor, and address the ongoing training needs of the Recovery Technician team. Provide additional training based on needs identified during ongoing supervisor duties.
- Schedule, attend, conduct, and participate in all monthly Recovery Technician Staff Meetings. Attend additional staff meetings as scheduled and required based on position.
- Perform routine support tasks, including filing, copying/scanning/faxing, and answering telephones to support the needs of the position and the agency as a whole.
- Transition duties and responsibilities at each shift change to incoming staff
- Assists on-duty clinical staff and performs other duties as assigned or required to support the operations of the program.
***The Recovery Technician Supervisor serves as a paraprofessional as defined by 245G.11, subd. 6, and must have knowledge of client rights according to section 148F.165, and staff member responsibilities. As a paraprofessional, the Recovery Technician may not admit, transfer, or discharge a client but may be responsible for the delivery of a treatment service according to section 245G.10, subd. 3.Employment Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum of two years experience in supervisory role within a direct care setting highly preferred, additional years of experience in the field or higher education may be considered in lieu of this qualification
- Knowledge and experience in the field of substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and/or direct care experience preferred
- Ability to work in alignment with company values, goals, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of MN Statute Chapter 245G and licensing and its application to the agency's policy and procedures; or ability to obtain knowledge after hire
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with supervisees, co-workers, and management and collaborate professionally with others outside of the agency
- Ability to maintain excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English; bilingual individuals are highly encouraged to apply
- Ability to establish priorities, efficiently complete tasks, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience with Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365, Procentive electronic medical record, RTASKS electronic medication record, and/or Relias training platform preferred; or ability to obtain proficiency after training
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- High School Diploma/GED required; some college preferred
- Medication Administration training and experience preferred, but not required
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Current Driver's License, in good standing required
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to maintain freedom from problematic substance use in accordance with agency policy, including willingness to submit to random drug testing, throughout the duration of employment
- Ability to pass a background check or obtain a set-aside through the Department of Human Services
- Valid Driver's License and a driving record that is free from DUI/DWI for the past 5 years and free from any other major moving violations in the past 3 years and ability to maintain this throughout the duration of employment.
